Alejandro Las
Alejandro Las was born in Uruguay in 1967.
From a young age, he felt an irresistible pull toward drawing and painting a quiet devotion that found its truest expression in the human face.
Though largely self-taught in drawing, his journey in painting was shaped by the mentorship of Uruguayan masters Gustavo Alamón and Aldo Curto. Over time, he continued to refine his craft through studies with acclaimed international artists such as Mary Qian, Scott Burdick, and Susan Lyon.
While his brush has explored a range of subjects, it is in portraiture that his artistic voice speaks loudest. Whether in the rich depths of oil or the expressive subtlety of charcoal, Alejandro seeks to reveal not just a likeness, but a presence—a glimpse of the inner life behind every gaze.
On a personal note, he has been married to Cristina Beigert since 1998, and together they have raised four children. His family life, along with his deep empathy for people, serves as a continual wellspring of inspiration for his art.
He travels regularly, both as a guest speaker on personal and spiritual growth, and as an art instructor leading workshops.
Alejandro is fluent in English, Portuguese, and his native Spanish.
